- Oversee all financial operations
- Evaluate, track, and report on company performance and goals
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
- Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and complies with GAAP
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Oversee the job costing process, including setting up job cost codes and tracking project expenses
- Ensure proper revenue recognition for construction contracts based on the percentage of completion method
- Monitor job profitability and provide regular reports to project managers and executives
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including tax laws and GAAP
- Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures
- Identify and mitigate financial risks
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support
- Collaborate with project managers, executives, and other departments to provide financial support and analysis
- Continuously improve accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred
- Previous experience as a Controller or higher
- Strong verbal leadership and written communication skills
- Deep understanding of corporate finance
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
