ABOUT THE POSITION

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Setup Conversion position will assist with all aspects of daily event and nonevent setups, upkeep, and operations of the facility along with daily event and nonevent maintenance of Smart Financial Centre. This position will work in close conjunction with the Operations Manager & Director of Operations to provide effective and efficient support for a host of fulltime and parttime staff for Operations and Maintenance procedures.
  • As part of duties, the Setup Conversion position will also be responsible for assisting in preventive maintenance and repair to provide the best upkeep of Smart Financial Centre. The job duties require support of all event operations and nonevent operations. Duties will revolve around all aspects of facility operations related to areas of maintaining and operating a multipurpose venue during nonevent and event periods.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have the ability and willingness to work long days, evenings and weekends and holidays.
  • Three to five years' experience in the entertainment industry or related field.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of facility setups for events.
  • Working knowledge of daily/overnight facility conversions.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure building remains in a presentable and safe state for clients and guests.
  • Clearly communicate with staff (Full and Parttime) to assure a high morale and positive work environment.
  • Develop and implement efficiencies and improvements on an ongoing basis for the Operations department.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook recommended.
  • Ability to lift at least 20lbs as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in daily event setup along with daily and overnight conversions.
  • Basic understanding of overall building maintenance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, Excel, Word, & Outlook.
  • 3 years' experience in the entertainment (arena, stadium or theater) industry or related field.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Preset future events on nonevent days and setup changes on backtoback events on event days.
  • Understand and utilize all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the facility.
  • Performs minor electrical maintenance including, but not limited to bulbs, ballasts, sockets, fuses, etc.
  • Performs minor plumbing maintenance including, but not limited to flush valves, backups, leaks, etc.
  • Performs minor painting, carpentry, masonry (e.g., stage repair, door repair, painting walls, doors, handrails, etc.).
  • Fixing any potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Maintains strict adherence to safety standards.
  • Work closely with Operations Manager to ensure operations and processes are adhered to maintaining an exceptionally safe and customer friendly environment.
