    Description

    Located on eighty rolling acres in picturesque Rappahannock County, Virginia, Blue Rock is a new take on the classic country restaurant and inn. Breathtaking views overlooking a Koi pond set against a backdrop of vineyards and the Blue Ridge Mountains, create the perfect environment to have a glass of wine, delicious dinner, or throw a dream wedding.

    We are seeking energetic, friendly and highly motivated individuals with a passion for cooking for a Chef de Partie position. This position is best for someone who is looking for a learning environment, and one day hopes to be the Chef of their own kitchen. A passion for hospitality, a sense of urgency, and attention to detail are a must for this individual.


    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrates a passion for food preparation and excellence
    • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
    • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
    • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
    • Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions.
    • Clean up station and take care of leftover food.
    • Stock inventory appropriately.
    • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
    • Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards.
    • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
    • Memorize and utilize our serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen.
    • Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    • 1+ years of experience working in restaurant kitchens
    • Knowledge of professional cooking principles, current applicable food codes and other relevant safety regulations
    • Weekend and evening availability
