    Utilizes the nursing process to access, plan, implement, and evaluate care to Center patients. Processes and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures for competent delivery of nursing care. Complies with standards of practice, coordinates stress lab schedule, and ensures promptness and accuracy during performance of non-invasive procedures.

    Minimum Job Qualifications

    • Licensure or other certifications: Currently licensed as an LPN in the State of Georgia.
    • Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED

    Preferred Job Qualifications

    • Preferred Licensure or other certifications: Current ACLS certification

        • Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

        • Maintain scheduled procedures in a timely manner. Greet patients, complete assessment, and associated paperwork for the procedure ordered. Explain the procedure and assess the patient for the accuracy of the test ordered through ECIS and notify the physician in the stress lab rotation if necessary for any changes/corrections.
        • Prepare the patient for the ordered procedure and assist with Echo & Vascular studies if necessary. Upon completion of the ordered test, assist the physician and the patient with any throughput or follow up required post-testing. Collaborate with other healthcare team members in response to patient and family needs. Notify the physician assigned to the stress lab of any abnormalities.
        • Complete all paperwork associated with test(s) performed, including copying and faxing reports and placing the completed chart in the appropriate location. Responsible for compliance in respective clinical areas, including but not limited to medical record documentation and clinical notes in ECIS and patient privacy.
        • Follow up with physician orders including patient education, maintaining education booklets, education, and application of event and/or Holter monitors, Scanning of Holter monitor (if cross-trained), performing venipuncture, completing associated paperwork for the lab through ECIS, and assisting with scheduling tests/procedures.
        • Provide the physician and/or patient with prescribed medication samples. Assist with ordering and stocking supplies and medications, including maintaining a supply log with par levels for the lab and ordering supplies in a timely manner, keep an adequate supply of medications used daily for testing purposes, and monitor par levels.
        • Maintain the crash cart, including checking the defibrillator, the crash cart daily log, and documenting on the log. Keep a log of medication expiration and replacements. Maintain O2 cylinders and supplies and order replacements as needed.
        • Maintain the current skills checklist and assist with performing skills checklist on other employees. Identify and implement infection control and safety practices. Comply with OSHA regulations.
        • Complete a minimum of six hours of continuing education within the review year. Conduct at least one clinically related in-service for center staff during the review year.
        • Cross-train if necessary to perform basic radiological, laboratory, and other functions as necessary.
