    Job Description

    Job DescriptionSummary:

    The successful candidate will carry out the daily internal and external maintenance duties of the
    facilities, including cleaning and repairs. He/She will work closely with the facility's manager and
    the building superintendent to ensure maintenance duties are performed according to the long-term
    facility goals and all federal, city and state regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    The Maintenance worker is responsible for, but not limited to:
    • Cleaning the exterior perimeter, lobby, hallways, walls, and elevators of the facility
    • Cleaning the resident bathrooms and recreation rooms, as well as other spaces as needed
    • Handling repairs and painting as assigned through work orders
    • Removing snow and salts ice on the exterior grounds of the facility during the winter
    • Conducting garbage runs throughout the facility, including staff office spaces
    • Preparing and cleaning the garbage room to ensure weekly removal of trash and recyclables
    • Maintaining staff closets, slop sinks, and other cleaning-related areas neat and clean
    • Locking and securing rooms and facility from entry
    • Reporting incidents, repairs needs, etc.
    • Using and maintaining the related equipment of the facility
    • Maintaining a daily work log of work completed
    • Logging the use of all facilities supplies
    • Maintaining personal appearance, hygiene, and uniform policies and standards
    • Assisting in complying with city, state, and federal building codes and industry standards, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Universal Precautions
    • Obtaining and renewing licenses and certifications needed to carry out job duties
    • Attending and participating in facility and professional group meetings as scheduled
    • Maintaining ongoing communication with facilities and other departmental supervisors and coworkers concerning maintenance issues
    • Working diplomatically to solve problems in the facility

    Professional & Personal Qualifications:
    • At least one (1) year of facility maintenance experience preferably in a residential facility High School Diploma/GED is required
    • CPR/Basic First Aid certification
    • Basic knowledgeable of carpentry, electrical work, and plumbing preferred
    • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Certification
    • Able to operate related equipment, tools, and materials used in the facility
    • Commitment to the mission of the NAICA, Inc.
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively well with diverse groups
    • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks effectively under pressure
    • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and efficient
    • Capable of obtaining other credentials as may be needed (i.e. FDNY F02 Certificate of Fitness)
    • Work a standard work schedule (set hours as assigned)
    • Maybe required to work outside of standard work hours or on weekends
    • Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, extended walking
    • Heavy work (equivalent of lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds)
