    Job Description

    At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for a cashier to join our team.

    The primary responsibility of the cashier is:

    • Responsible for entering all transactions into the ledger and into the computer system accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Compiles and reconciles daily deposit.
    • Reconciles daily batches to ensure data integrity
    • Tracks enrollment and re-enrollment requirements for providers and the facility.
    • Review and corrects the Medicaid ERA for inappropriate credit balances after posting.

    An ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

    • The ability to critically evaluate data retrieved across multiple platforms.
    • Gather and analyze data to locate and track gaps in data processing.
    • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
    • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal customers to ensure optimal processing functions that impact billing and claims activity.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
    • Strong presence, professional image, and confidence in dealing with complex billing and reimbursement issues.
    • Knowledge of Medicare billing regulations, DRG's, fee schedules, third party billing.
    • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and hospital information systems.
