    Description


    The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of engineering work in the design and startup of PLC-controlled systems for manufacturing equipment, and to develop and install electrical and/or electronic designs for new and existing equipment as well as provide daily equipment support.

    Position Duties and Responsibilities /

    Develop, install, and modify manufacturing equipment control systems / 40% / 1
    Troubleshoot and repair equipment using standardized root cause analysis techniques / 20% / 2
    Support LabVIEW equipment and utilize Visual basic to develop software solutions / 15% / 3
    Support manufacturing plant VA (Value Add) & VE (Value Engineering) / 10% / 4
    Provide guidance and direction to other associates / 5% / 4
    Train associates, develop schematics, deliver presentations, manage projects, etc. / 5% / 4
    Other duties as assigned / 5% / 5
    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

    4-year college degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience and education
    Engineering skills including knowledge of control systems, mechanics, pneumatics, and factory floor equipment programming
    3 years of related work experience in high-volume, precision assembly processes
    Knowledge of computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties
    Strong mechanical aptitude
    Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

    Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
    5+ years related work experience in an industrial manufacturing setting
    Expert Mitsubishi PLC, Robots (Fanuc, Motoman, Yamaha, and Mitsubishi), Weber screwdriver, Nordson Spray System, Keyence Vision, LabVIEW, and Visual Basic programming abilities

    Must be flexible to adapt to changing requirements
    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Guide and support other Engineers, Interns, EIT's, TS's, MA's, and TA's

    Software:
    Advanced Mitsubishi PLC, Fanuc, IAI, and Motoman Robots, Atlas Copco screwdriver, Keyence Vision, Excel, LabVIEW, and Visual Basic programming
    Intermediate experience required in Windows, MSWord, PowerPoint, and Excel
    Intermediate experience with AutoCAD and CATIA preferred
    Essential to Job Functions Physical and/or

    Mental Restrictions:
    Ability to work for extended periods of time while sitting
    Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday
    Ability to lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds
    Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen
    Work Environment Travel, Noise, Smells, Quiet, Indoors or Outdoors, etc.

    May require up to 20% travel
