    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to perform a variety of engineering work in the design and startup of PLC-controlled systems for manufacturing equipment, and to develop and install electrical and/or electronic designs for new and existing equipment as well as provide daily equipment support.

    Position Duties and Responsibilities /Time Spent /Company ValueDevelop, install, and modify manufacturing equipment control systems / 40% / 1Troubleshoot and repair equipment using standardized root cause analysis techniques / 20% / 2Support LabVIEW equipment and utilize Visual basic to develop software solutions / 15% / 3Support manufacturing plant VA (Value Add)


    VE (Value Engineering) / 10% / 4Provide guidance and direction to other associates / 5% / 4Train associates, develop schematics, deliver presentations, manage projects, etc.

    / 5% / 4Other duties as assigned / 5% / 5RequirementsMinimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):4-year college degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience and educationEngineering skills including knowledge of control systems, mechanics, pneumatics, and factory floor equipment programming3 years of related work experience in high-volume, precision assembly processesKnowledge of computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job dutiesStrong mechanical aptitudePreferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering5+ years related work experience in an industrial manufacturing settingExpert Mitsubishi PLC, Robots (Fanuc, Motoman, Yamaha, and Mitsubishi), Weber screwdriver, Nordson Spray System, Keyence Vision, LabVIEW, and Visual Basic programming abilitiesSkills and Abilities:Ability to maintain highly motivated, positive personal leadership and management skillsAbility to promote and carry out Astemo's code of conduct leading with integrity and ethicsProven ability to make sound business decisions, exercise good judgment, and be highly motivatedProvides excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracyMaintains a clean and orderly work environmentEnsures all local, state, and federal laws and regulations are complied with in functional areaProvides strong leadershipInteracts with various levels of associatesAnalyzes technology, resource needs, market demand, and confers with all departments to assess feasibility of projectsImproves manufacturing proficiency levels to meet plant goals and objectivesMaintains knowledge of all processes, procedures, and equipmentStrong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of organizationCoordinates and recommends cost savings and efficiency ideasAbility to manage multiple functions and deadlines, work independently and make effective decisionsCommitment to high standards and the ability to inspire those qualities in othersWillingness and ability to support and train othersStrong work ethicMust be flexible to adapt to changing requirementsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesNo direct reportsGuide and support other Engineers, Interns, EIT's, TS's, MA's, and TA'sSoftware:Advanced Mitsubishi PLC, Fanuc, IAI, and Motoman Robots, Atlas Copco screwdriver, Keyence Vision, Excel, LabVIEW, and Visual Basic programmingIntermediate experience required in Windows, MSWord, PowerPoint, and ExcelIntermediate experience with AutoCAD and CATIA preferredEssential to Job FunctionsPhysical and/or
