The Woodworking Production Lead will report to the Business Manager and ensure that our team operates efficiently and delivers on production targets.
This role is a unique opportunity to lead a team of motivated individuals in our precision woodshop and production area.
You will be responsible for full oversight of our process; from raw material processing, through woodworking to the dispatch of finished products.
This is a unique opportunity to make a very tangible impact on your environment and local community.Responsibilities
Supervises and schedules the shop team, with daily shop meetings and task delegation.
Manages the team's production schedule.
Leads by example; ensures wood working practices are trained to and maintained at a high standard.
Interprets drawings and product specifications.
Responsible for the quantity of products produced.
Manages compliance to company and local safety guidelines.
Manages upkeep of equipment preventative maintenance.
Manages compliance to company manufacturing processes.
Manages employee performance including; attendance and performance reviews.
Manages recruitment of new team members.
Responsible for timesheet approvals.
Develops talent within the team; supports team members to grow in their roles.
Supports job quoting and estimates.
Manage shop consumables.
Curious to learn new skills and grow as an individual
Wants to make have a positive environmental impact
Natural leader, with strong written and verbal communication
A team player with strong listening skills; actively creates and executes on team goals.
Requirements
Red Seal joinery certification or equivalent in Joinery or Carpentry
Minimum 2 years experience in supervision in a shop/manufacturing environment
