    Cornell Pump is seeking an experienced full-time Electrical Design Engineer. This position is based onsite out of our Clackamas office location. This is an exempt position, and the annual starting salary is $75,000.

    SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
    This position will support both firmware and hardware-embedded system development for Cornell's new IIoT products.

    This includes prototyping firmware and hardware for research and development work, as well as supporting product-level firmware and hardware design.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Design schematics and PCBs for IoT products, test fixturing, and sensor developmentWrite test firmware for low-power microcontrollers and peripherals, such as analog and digital sensors, wireless radios, and fieldbus protocolsOperate and test IIoT systems in the field and Test Lab, alongside operating pumpsSolder and rework of PCBs, hardware debugging and troubleshooting, and test fixture constructionImplement test plans, document procedures, and present resultsSupport other Firmware and Hardware Engineers on the team for product developmentInterpret hardware schematics and code from existing repositoriesWrite software applications to support and test embedded hardwareManage firmware and hardware source file version controlCollaborate across interdisciplinary teams such as Mechanical Engineering, Test Lab, Software Engineering, and Sales


    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    May direct Drafters and Engineering Technicians. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    What we're looking for:
    Excellent knowledge and experience of PCB High Speed and Mixed Signal designGood knowledge and experience with hardware design and microcontroller hardware peripherals, such as I2C and SPI, analog 4-20mA industrial sensors, PLCs, and real-time fieldbus protocolsSome knowledge and experience of low-level code on microcontrollers: Assembly, C, C++ on ARM-Cortex M platforms or similarSome knowledge and experience with writing computer applications in Python to debug and test embedded hardwareEDUCATION and/or


    EXPERIENCE:
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Engineering, or related fields and 2-5 years of industry experience
