    Job Title:
    Project Engineer

    Reports To:
    Project Manager

    Employment Status:
    Full-time, Exempt

    Primary Area of Focus:
    QA/QC
    Basic Design
    Modeling & Reports

    Core Responsibilities:
    Provide direction, coordination, and QA/QC oversight to EITs, CAD Techs, and Designers.
    Design simple projects including grading and drainage.
    Draft complex report documents independently.
    Perform final review and stamp approval for simple utility and drainage reports.
    Independently develop complex models.
    Lead meetings with clients and review agencies, presenting technical information.
    Monitor compliance with codes, practices, and QA/QC policies.
    Perform quality control on tasks, budgets, schedules, and plans, reporting project status.
    Determine project specifications and prepare cross-sections for plan documents.
    Format base files from external project team members.
    Conduct design engineering on specific scopes or phases.
    Perform basic hydraulic and hydrology calculations and prepare specifications.
    Ensure accurate and timely completion of timecards.
    Attend project team and public meetings as needed after hours.
    Achieve a 75-85% billable utilization rate, balancing non-billable activities such as meetings, professional development, and community involvement.

    Skills & Experience:
    Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil, environmental, construction management, or related engineering field.
    Professional Engineering License.
    Minimum of 4 years of project planning and execution experience for land development projects.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office, exposure to scheduling software ideal.
    Strong oral and written communication skills.
    Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines.
    Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
    Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices.
    Valid driver's license and automobile insurance preferred.

    Physical Requirements:
    Standing, walking, and sitting required.
    Occasional project site visits may be necessary.
    Normal range of hearing required.
    Must be able to lift 40 lbs. occasionally.
    Prolonged sitting with 15% bending and reaching.
    Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    Noise levels consistent with a standard office environment.
