The State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg is currently seeking to fill the position of Deputy Head of Department (m/f/d) (reference number 5402) at Department 5- Media Policy, Media Law, and Broadcasting.
The State Ministry is the government headquarters of the Minister-President. It plans state policies and advises the Minister-President on cross-departmental coordination with state ministries.

It prepares cabinet meetings and decisions of the state government, organizes cooperation with the state parliament, and presents the work of the state government to the public.

It is also responsible for Baden-Württemberg's relations with the federal government, other German states, and Europe.


Your responsibilities:


Department 54 of the State Ministry is the specialist department for media policy, media law, and broadcasting with its own departmental responsibility.

The main tasks within these areas of responsibility include:

  • As Deputy Head of Department, you will represent the Head of Department in terms of content and leadership, as well as in discussions on the entire range of topics.
  • Advising the top management on all media policy issues, particularly in matters concerning public and private broadcasting as well as press publishers (excluding Press Law).
  • Media legislation in the field of public and private broadcasting (media state treaties/state media law).
  • Representing Baden-Württemberg in crossstate specialist committees and working groups.
  • Legal supervision of the Southwest Broadcasting Corporation and the State Agency for Communication.
  • Monitoring
