CFD Research is seeking a highly qualified RF Engineer, supporting the Hypersonic-Electromagnetic Interactions Group.

As an RF Engineer, you will be a key contributor to our research efforts focused on designing and characterizing next generation antennas for high-speed systems.

The candidate should have a strong technical background, as well as a desire to develop and commercialize innovative technologies.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a team of experts, engage in groundbreaking research projects, and contribute to the advancement of next-generation RF devices.

Responsibilities:

Support development of antenna hardware design for integration into high-speed vehicles
Modeling & simulation of antenna design and system, link-budget analysis
EMI/ EMC simulation and analysis
Collaboration with GNC, aerothermal and structural engineers

Basic Qualifications:
Experience in antenna simulations and antenna system hardware design, link-budget analysis
Experience in EMI/EMC simulation and analysis
Proficiency in Ansys HFSS, and/or CREATE RF SENTRi, and/or FEKO
Proficiency in Python
Ability to work on multiple projects as needed
Ability to work independently and effectively in team environments
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain/maintain a Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications:
BS and 5+ years of work experience or higher degree with demonstrated work experience.
An active secret security clearance or higher is a plus
If no previous experience in HFSS, or CREATE RF SENTRi, or FEKO is present, ability to rapidly learn these tools is needed
Expertise with computational electromagnetics associated with RCS signatures of complex objects
Familiarity with RCS prediction models (e.g. Xpatch, NEC)
Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to devise creative hardware design solutions
Ability provide recommendations to technical decisions
