The Emory University Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking a Director to oversee the Body MRI program to further expand its clinical and translational research activities.
Emory offers a vibrant and growing academic and clinical environment which includes 36 clinical magnets, 3 dedicated research magnets (two 3T and one 7T), and a clinical and research PET MR.
Magnets are supported by three PhD MR physicists who are dedicated to clinical MRI (technical operations, training/education, quality control, vendor collaborations, and innovation).
The Body MRI Director would oversee the Body MRI program which performs more than 21,000 exams per year across 19 sites at Emory Healthcare and would also support the Body MRI program at Grady Health.
The Body MRI Director would be a member of the Abdominal Imaging Division which consists of 21 faculty, 6-8 abdominal imaging fellows per year, and provides diagnostic services for Emory Healthcare and Grady Health.
Emory Healthcare is the most comprehensive academic health system in Georgia and is made up of 11 hospitals.Grady Memorial Hospital is Atlanta's public hospital, the 10th largest public hospital in the United States, and a level 1 trauma center.
The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences has a strong Research Division including 22 research faculty with approximately 60 post docs and graduate students.
The radiology department obtains approximately $23m in research funding each year, ranking in the top 10 in terms of NIH funding.
Departmental faculty collaborate with other schools including with experts in artificial intelligence from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
The Emory Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is home to a large diagnostic radiology residency program (64 diagnostic radiology residents), a nuclear medicine residency program, an interventional radiology residency program, multiple fellowship programs, and a medical imaging school.
Atlanta, Georgia, is a vibrant, growing, and diverse metropolitan area with abundant cultural opportunities, a dynamic food scene, professional sports teams, and opportunities for outdoor recreation including the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.
The beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of north Georgia and several lakes are a short drive away, and Georgia's beaches as well as the beaches of Florida's Emerald Coast are also within driving distance.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be ABR Board-certified/eligible and eligible to obtain an unrestricted Georgia medical license. Candidates also must have completed a fellowship program in Abdominal or MR Imaging. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments. A research background is preferred.
