Under the general supervision of the circulating registered nurse and in collaboration with the service-line coordinators, clinical supervisors and surgery manager, the surgical technologist I is an individual with demonstrated competence in surgical scrubbing technique(s) who provides scrub services for the department by: Ensuring the functionality, availability and sterility of OR supplies and equipment prior to the start of the daily caseload. Scrubbing and handling instruments during surgical procedures. Adhering to standards of aseptic technique in all phases of surgical intervention. Demonstrating competence in performing scrub services for a variety of surgical procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Completion of an accredited surgical technologist course.
• H.S. Diploma or GED
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree
• Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) upon hire.
• Experience as a surgical technologist with exposure to general, urology, gynecology and orthopedic surgery service-lines during employment or the clinical practice portion of a surgical technologist program.
