Summary You will serve as a MACHINE TOOL OPERATOR in the Repair Department, Mechanical Division of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.
Responsibilities You will perform common machine tool operations on one or more conventional machine tools such as engine and turret lathes, milling machines and drill presses.
You will follow sequences of machine operations. You will repair components in accordance with specifications.Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below.
This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible.The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION.

Military Spouse Preference applicants will receive priority consideration at the Full Performance Level (FPL) and if determined to be Best Qualified at the FPL, and selected, must be placed at the FPL. A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position. PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires rotating shift work. Must be able to do arduous work such as lifting, carrying and setting up equipment and components that weigh up to 50 pounds. Work is performed in shop and requires standing for long periods of time. You may be required to perform work which involves stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching and climbing. Vision must be such that the incumbent can identify color coding of materials and can read small scales down to 1/64th of an inch. This position requires exposure to high noise levels.
