Catering Chef Manager | Creative Dining Services
Creative Dining Services is hiring a Chef Manager to lead our catering and dining services operation at Hope College in Holland, MI This is a hands-on culinary departmental leadership role responsible for overseeing daily food service operations, managing staff, ensuring food quality and safety, and delivering outstanding service to our client and guests.
We're looking for a dependable, motivated leader with proven chef and management experience, strong organizational skills, and a passion for creating excellent food and a positive team culture.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee all catering and dining services operations to ensure consistent food quality, service excellence, and customer satisfaction
- Create, plan, and execute menus while managing food costs to stay within budget
- Train, coach, and work alongside culinary and service staff to drive productivity, teamwork, and high morale
- Manage scheduling, timekeeping, labor costs, and staffing needs
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations
- Maintain company standards for food quality, purchasing, receiving, storage, and sustainability

Qualifications:
- 2+ years of chef experience (culinary degree preferred)
- 2+ years of supervisory or management experience in food service or catering
- Experience with menu planning, food costing, and kitchen operations
- Comfortable with basic math (yields, conversions, inventory, labor)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Self-starter who takes ownership and thrives in a team-oriented environment
