    Our client, Vibrant Health, is a 501c3 non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center located in Kansas City, KS. What once began as a clinic comprised of volunteer physicians aiding uninsured individuals in their community has become what is now known as Vibrant Heath. The organization was formed in 2017 as a result of a three clinic merger. Vibrant Health provides a host of services from medical and dental care to local outreach. The clients mission is to offer exceptional health care for individuals in every financial position and seek to ensure that cost does not become a barrier.

    Vibrant Health is searching for a Vice President for Fiscal Affairs and Chief Financial Officer who will sit on their executive team. This individual will be responsible for the management of all of the financial components such as but not limited to accounting, forecasting, and billing.     Responsibilities

    • Provides leadership in the development and the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
    • Generates timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.
    • Directs and oversees all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of Vibrant Health.
    • Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs and strategies, and regulatory action.
    • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with all levels of employees including senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
    • Provides executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
    • Manages processes for financial forecasting, budgets, and consolidation.
    • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
    • Prepares and maintains a cash plan for VH and manages banking/credit relationships.
    • Participates in and oversees key investments including software systems; operational alternatives (e.g. call-centers); and site placement and/or expansion.
    • Stays informed on all grant and regulatory matters pertaining to the agency and recommends appropriate actions to maximize funding and maintain compliance with regulations.
    • Implements systems and procedures for internal auditing of the agency finances and operations, and coordinates activities relating to external audits.
    • In conjunction with the Human Resources Department, will ensure all insurances are handled timely and efficiently to assure best cost practices and provide all required coverage.
    • Reviews departmental performance and ensures compliance with fiscal governmental reporting requirements, including tax reports.
    • Attend Finance Committee meetings and present current fiscal status.
    • Pursues all financial activities, in conjunction with the CEO, to expand the clinic, including but not limited to, enhanced education and training related to rules and regulations affecting FQHCs, monitoring and providing oversight into fiscal related compliance issues, and pursing all avenues of funding available to non-profit organizations
    • Carries out Vibrant Healths mission to provide access to respectful, empowering, culturally sensitive and appropriate high-quality health care for the community, regardless of socio-economic obstacles.
    • Accepts and uses supervision, direction and consultation to maximize available resources in the completion of work duties.
    • All job responsibilities will be carried out under the direction of the organizations policies and procedures.
    • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to maintain and improve effective functioning of the department and to advance the mission of the organization.

    Qualifications / Requirements

    • Bachelor degree in finance or accounting. MBA. Masters Degree in Finance or Accounting or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
    • A minimum of seven (7) years experience in fiscal services (grants, contracts, billing and collections, bookkeeping, accounting, reporting) may be substituted and/or combined with education to meet this requirement.
    • Medical group management experience
    • Experience with Medicare and Medicaid
    • Seven years of fiscal management experience including three years in a health care organization, preferably a Federally Qualified Health Center.
    • Experience in grant accounting preferred.
    • Highly competent technology skills on a variety of platforms required.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
    • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
    • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

    • Demonstrate social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patients and staff.
    • Exhibit experience and working knowledge of local community resources
    • Hold current drivers license and reliable transportation.
    • Travel to all parts of the facility and throughout the community
