Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Position Overview:
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Professional Football League, you will play a critical role in managing our organization's financial operations and strategies.
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic individual to oversee financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and provide strategic guidance on financial matters.
As the CFO, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial stability, growth, and compliance of our league.Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Develop and implement comprehensive financial planning processes, including annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic insights to support decision-making at the executive level.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to align financial goals with the league's strategic objectives.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and provide meaningful analysis to the executive team.
Financial Strategy and Risk Management:
Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team, including assessing financial risks, identifying opportunities for revenue growth, and optimizing cost structures.
Evaluate investment opportunities, capital allocation, and financial performance metrics to support strategic decision-making.
Budget Management:
Oversee the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic budgets and monitor adherence to approved budgets.
Provide guidance and support in financial allocations and spending decisions to ensure efficient resource utilization.
Track and analyze budget variances, identify areas of concern, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Cash Flow Management and Treasury:
Monitor and manage the league's cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure financial stability and meet operational needs.
Develop cash flow forecasts, optimize investment strategies, and maintain strong relationships with banking institutions.
Ensure effective treasury management practices and oversee the implementation of cash management systems and controls.
Team Management and Leadership:
Lead and manage the finance team, providing direction, guidance, and mentoring to ensure their professional development and performance.
Foster a collaborative and high-performing culture within the finance department and promote cross-functional collaboration across the organization.
Encourage continuous improvement and innovation in financial processes, systems, and reporting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA qualification preferred.
Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within the sports industry or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision support.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a high-performing team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven track record of driving financial results, managing risk, and implementing financial controls.
Knowledge of sports industry dynamics and familiarity with American Football will be advantageous.
