Job Description

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to become a part of our team

Responsibilities:

Check in patients by obtaining vitals and collecting pertinent patient information
Record information for the patient's chart
Assist provider in the exam room with medical treatments, procedures and exams
Administer Injections
Prepare medical equipment for examinations and procedures
Perform routine specimen collections and tests
Receive and direct patent phone calls
Facilitate and send out patient referrals
Send out orders for laboratory and ultrasound services
Assist in obtaining prior authorizations from insurance companies for both in and out patient medical procedures

Qualifications:

Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields
High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program.
Strong organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Outstanding interpersonal skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with patients and other staff members
Detailed-oriented and organized
A strong understanding of medical practices, administrative practices and organizational policies
Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
