    Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Safety Coordinator is responsible for establishing and maintaining a collaborative safety culture that adheres to all regulatory standards and beyond.

    The position is also tasked with developing safety policies, procedures and general processes that will assist in shaping our organization for the future.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


    Understanding of OSHA guidelines as they pertain to manufacturing facilities, including the comprehension and interpretation of legal precedents throughout the industry.

    Knowledge of legal requirements related to workplace safety, including accident reporting and investigations. Experience in reporting and developing policies. Capable of developing and implementing training programs. Comfortable in a team environment with many different cross-collaboration partnerships. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Problem solving and analytical capabilities. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Works closely with staff in engineering, human resources, legal, operations, and research and development. Provides technical safety and operational training to production personnel. Prepares written safety programs and policies. Identifies company safety and operational training needs and develops and coordinates training programs. Participates in new product/process reviews, including process hazard analyses, operator training, etc. Supports operations/plant engineering to implement engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards. Maintains safety library (e.g., videos, regulations, reference manuals). Writes, maintains and communicates Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and operational instructions for all processes and equipment. Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker's compensation claims. Performs injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary
