The Registered Nurse (RN)participates as primary nurse, associate nurse, a team member orteam leader in the planning and implementing of patient care. TheRegistered Nurse (RN) directs and assists in carrying out safeaseptic technique and procedures. The Registered Nurse (RN) offersleadership and direction to all support staff withindepartment.
The CSH Beeville ICU has 8 beds anda large proportion of the patients we look after each year needvery complex care. Our interdisciplinary team works together tosave and improve the lives of critically ill patients. We recognizethat friends and families of our patients are worried andconcerned. We always want to help ease their natural anxieties. Wealways assure them that we are taking the very best care of theirloved one. Our team is experienced; our number one priority iscaring for our patients and helping them recover.
Our ICU team includes critical care nurses, pharmacists,respiratory therapists, physical therapists and case coordinators.The entire team develops a plan of care, which is frequentlycommunicated to the patient and the patient's family. Ourinterdisciplinary team works together to save and improve the livesof critically ill patients.
As a unit werecognize the importance of maintaining a healthy balance betweenour nursing career and our personal life. We as an organizationmade the commitment to support our nurses with this. For thatreason we instituted our self-scheduling. This will allow anymember of our team to choose their own schedule. All nurses in theICU work together on a schedule that benefits their private lifewhile maintaining a safe staffing for the department. CSH BeevilleICU flexible staffing program provides the optimal work-lifebalance for our nurses.
