As aData Engineer
at
LabGenius , you will collaborate with our talented team of scientists, data scientists and software engineers to deliver our ambitious internal and partnered drug discovery programmes, helping us build a future where AI rapidly engineers novel, life-enhancing biotherapeutics.
What you'll do in this role
Work with our Data Scientists to productionise our machine learning drug discovery platform
Design and build custom bioinformatic tools that serve our biologists and automation engineers
Configure, maintain and build integrations for our lab data management systems (Benchling)
Work closely with lab and data scientists to understand their current needs and gather requirements
Use Google Cloud Platform to deploy, manage and secure applications and data
Work to maintain and improve the quality of our software, exemplifying best practices for testing, code review, security, documentation, and architecture
What we're looking for
You have a background or experience in a scientific subject, such as a degree or equivalent working in a related field
Strong experience writing Python and SQL in a production environment - ideally at least 5 years experience working in industry.
Strong experience building and maintaining relational and non-relational databases
Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines
Experience with ETL pipeline technologies such as
Apache Beam
Spark
Kubeflow
Experience building scientific analytics dashboards ideally using Bokeh and Spotfire
You'll have high engineering standards and feel comfortable writing automated tests
You are comfortable working autonomously and managing your own workload but also able to work collaboratively as part of a team
You'll be excited to learn about molecular biology, protein engineering and automation in order to be more effective in your job.
Remote expectations:
It's a hybrid role and we would need 2 days onsite each week at least.
