- Providing hands on guidance and assistance to the section heads within their assigned area of responsibility regarding ACA and PREA audits and technical guidance to the directors.
- Coordinating internal compliance audits, safety and health audits and inspections and ensuring all standard operating procedures and post orders are in compliance with audit standards and NCDAC policy.
- Serving as the coordinator for monitoring the strategic plan, the key performance indicators.
- Working collaboratively with other section heads to develop strategies for enhancing operations, using the results of operational audits, and other measures developed by this section.
- Experience and understanding of audit procedures and standards
- Experience working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Products (particularly Word and Excel)
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal PREA regulations, laws and compliance requirement
- Demonstrated understanding of NC Department of Adult of Correction policies and procedures
- Experience communicating effectively both verbally and in writing with internal and external customers

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws.
About the Division
The Division of Professional Standards directs the Department of Adult Correction's efforts in policy and procedure development and review; internal and external audit processes; federal PREA guidelines and audits; American Correctional Association accreditation; and quality assurance.
While promoting and ensuring legal compliance with State, Federal and Departmental regulations and policies, as well as audit findings, the Division's goal is to also identify training needs and best practices.
The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed below, along with the Minimum Education and Experience requirements, are REQUIRED to qualify for this position.
