    Job Description
    Onin Staffing is currently recruiting for an experienced Diesel Machinist in North East Houston area
    The Diesel Machinist will be responsible for the following:

    Diagnosis and Troubleshooting:
    Conduct thorough inspections to identify issues with diesel engines and machinery. Use diagnostic tools and techniques to troubleshoot problems accurately. With Magnaflux experience.

    Maintenance and Repair:

    Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and belt adjustments, to ensure diesel engines operate efficiently.

    Conduct repairs on faulty components, including fuel systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, and exhaust systems.

    Dismantling and Reassembly:
    Disassemble diesel engines and machinery to access internal components for repair or replacement. Clean, inspect, and repair or replace damaged parts as necessary. Reassemble engines, ensuring all components are properly installed and aligned.

    Machining Operations:

    Utilize machining tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to fabricate or repair engine parts to precise specifications.

    Perform tasks such as machining cylinder heads, engine blocks, and crankshafts.

    Welding and Fabrication:
    Conduct welding and fabrication tasks to repair damaged engine components or fabricate custom parts. Ensure welds meet quality standards and adhere to safety regulations.

    Quality Assurance:
    Perform quality checks on completed repairs to ensure proper functionality and adherence to manufacturer specifications. Test run repaired engines to verify performance and identify any remaining issues.

    Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings. Prepare reports summarizing work performed and recommendations for future maintenance or repairs.

    Safety Compliance:
    Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and follow proper procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

    Work Experience
    3+ years' experience on diesel engines required.


    • - Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or machinist, preferably in a similar industrial or automotive setting.
    • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel injection, turbocharging, cooling, and exhaust systems.
    • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
    • Experience with machining operations, welding, and fabrication techniques.
    Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.

    • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
    • Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry developments.

    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform tasks requiring bending, stoopin and kneeling.
    Stamina to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and elevated platforms.
    Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating tools and machinery safely.
