    Description

    Position Summary: The Summer Outreach Program Assistant works to help direct activities for children such as crafts and Bible Lessons, etc. through The Salvation Army's Summer Outreach Ministry Program.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Assist with activities planned for the Summer Outreach Ministry, leading and participating with the program participants.
    • Work with program staff to plan and execute weekly activities as needed
    • Responsible for the welfare of everyone in the assigned group, potential ages of 5 through 13
    • Inform supervisors of any staff or camper problems
    • Encourage participation in any and all activities appropriate to those children assigned to your group in a constructive manner
    • Always remain with your assigned group, unless another staff member has relieved you
    • Display an attitude and work habits in conjunction with a Christian environment
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    Minimum age is 14.

    Education/Experience:

    • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

    Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

    • Able to work independently and as a team member in order to make appropriate decisions
    • Ability and/or experience in supervision campers

    Computer Skills:

    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
    • Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
    • Willingness to learn new software as needed

    Certificates and Licenses:

    • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
