Summary of Position:


Press brake operators produce parts and tools from metal using a press brake, a computer numeric controlled (CNC) piece of equipment that makes precision bends.

The use of hand tools such as dial calipers, bar micrometer, squares and protractors. Converting decimals to fractions is also part of the daily tasks.


Job Duties:


  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and/or materials to Supervisor or Quality Control Specialist (QC)
  • Setup and operate machines, independently with limited supervision
  • Ensure the work area is kept clean and free from hazards
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed
  • Assist in departmental measurable goals relating production concerns, quality and efficiencyAssist in monthly inventory count to ensure proper inventory control
  • Actively look for ways to improve the profitability and productivity of the company

Skills and Experience Required:


  • Must be able to work at fast pace, follow instructions and be selfmotivatedRequires excellent math skills including fractions, and geometry
  • Requires ability to read measuring equipment, calipers and other tools
  • Requires ability to read blueprints and calculate bend allowances
  • Work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Must work well with others
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely
  • Ability to stand for minimum of 8 hours
  • Ensure and verify parts match to customer drawings
  • Provide immediate feedback when problems occur

Education or Experience:


  • High School diploma or GED
  • Cad or drafting experience a plus
  • Must have Press Brake Experience (12 years minimum experience) (Amada experience preferred)United States Work Authorization (required)
  • Experience with Amada HDS, HG Press Brakes or Cincinnati Press Brakes a plus

Pay:
$ $28.00 per hour


Expected hours:
No less than 40 per week


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed

Education:


  • High school or equivalent (required)
