Snell & Wilmer has an opening for a_Database Administrator_. You will ensure that the databases run efficiently and securely.
You will have the opportunity to work
_remote _in the position located near one of the following firm's office locations Salt Lake City, Utah; Dallas, Texas; Las Vegas, Nevada or Phoenix or Tucson, Arizona; and the hours are
_Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Install and maintain the performance of database servers
- Set and maintain database standards
- Manage database access
- Provide guidance and support to Application Developers
- Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning
- Review and deploy SQL patches
- Establish the needs of users and monitor user access and security
- Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast responses to frontend users
- Consider both backend organization of data and frontend accessibility for endusers
- Implement and manage company data management practices and policies
- Design and implement a business process into functional and efficient code
- Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements
- Collate, prepare, and present statistical information for internal and external use
Experience and Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related information technology field
- At least one to three years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field
- 5 years of knowledge with computer operating systems
- 3 years of experience in administering, managing, and tuning databases
- 2 years of experience with programming languages such PowerShell/TSQL coding
- Extensive experience with MS database technologies (MS SQL, Reporting Services, Integration Services, Analysis Services)
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) a plus
- Good understanding of data and schema standards and concepts
- Good understand database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance
- Manage time effectively and to set appropriate priorities
- Work effectively both independently and as a member of a serviceoriented team; demonstrate punctual, regular, and reliable attendance
