Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Conducts comprehensive interviews with children, families, and care providers to gather detailed family background information.
  • Review documents from police, Child Protective Services, and other agencies to ensure a thorough understanding of the family dynamics.
  • Works closely with the Office of Refugee Resettlement and affiliated organizations, fostering partnerships and engagement in service provision for unaccompanied children.
  • Provides advanced advocacy, assessment, and case management services. Develops and establishes appropriate service/treatment plans, regularly reviews case progress, and determines case closure based on program guidelines and standards.
  • Assists the Program Director/Associate Director in ensuring that all licensing and agency standards related to Family Reunification services are met.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Managing Family Reunification Specialists.
  • Supervises program participants individually or in groups, assisting them in modifying attitudes and patterns of behavior by increasing selfunderstanding and awareness of personal problems.
  • Ensures staff completion of quality documentation related to reunification services and other case management services.
  • Performs coordinating and training duties, including preparing and monitoring staffing assignments, training employees on job duties, and suggesting improvements in job performance.
  • Develops and manages systems to ensure family reunification staff perform in full compliance with funder requirements and adhere to best practices for delivering highquality services.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, social work, or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of workrelated experience with supervisory experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and a second language is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems; and other software routinely used by Heartland Human Care Services.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (K/S/A):


  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability and comfortability working with people of varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills. Strong networker, convener, relationship builder, and communicator with experience collaborating with diverse work teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information possessing skills to handle situations professionally and diplomatically.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work independently and remain selfmotivated with mínimal direct supervision.

Work Arrangement:
This role is not eligible for remote work.
