- Set up and operate press brake machinery to bend, shape, and form metal plates and sheets.
- Interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine setup procedures and requirements.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and fixtures based on job specifications.
- Adjust machine settings such as speed, stroke, and pressure to achieve desired results.
- Inspect workpieces to ensure they meet quality standards and dimensional requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot issues with equipment and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including setup times, materials used, and job completions.
- Proven experience as a press brake operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Ability to set up and operate press brake machinery independently.
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform basic calculations.
- Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
