    GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:


    The candidate will serve as a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) in the Mass General Early Brain Development Initiative (EBDI), and will report to Dr.

    Joshua Roffman, director of EBDI, and Dr. Alysa Doyle, director of research at the MGH Learning and Emotional Assessment Program.

    The coordinator will play a critical role in recruitment, participant assessment, MRI scanning, and data management for an NIH-funded study of adolescent brain development, and of the role of prenatal folic acid exposure on risk for psychiatric symptoms.

    The coordinator will recruit healthy adolescents, age 9 to 15, who will be followed for up to 2 years.

    They will work as part of a team that has expertise in psychiatric assessment, child neuropsychology, MRI studies, genomics, and big data analyses.

    This is an ideal position for individuals who are recent college graduates who plan to apply for medical or graduate school in coming years.

    The candidate must be a team player with outstanding interpersonal skills, who is comfortable working with children and families; and a diligent and independent worker with a high attention to detail.

    There is also ample opportunity to design and explore research questions of your own using PFAB data and for crossover with other projects under the EBDI, such as analyses of the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study data as well as the Brain health Begins Before Birth (B4) Study.


    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Recruitment (disseminating recruitment materials, calling potential participants, conducting consents/assents), and retention of adolescent participants and their families
    • Assisting with MRI scan acquisition and analysis
    • Psychological and cognitive assessment of adolescent participants
    • Electronic data entry and data cleaning
    • Contributing to IRB submissions, amendments and continuing reviews as needed

    • Ability to work independently

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (e.g., psychology, neuroscience, biology, or other natural sciences) required

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Previous research experience, preferably involving human participants
    • Experience with FreeSurfer or other brain software is encouraged but not required
