- Compensation: $70K+ (based on experience)
- Location: Must reside in the metro Atlanta area
- Requirements: High-speed internet and a quiet workspace at home
- Evaluate current control procedures and contribute to creating new procedures to enhance internal control measures
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to interpret accounting schedules and resolve discrepancies
- Develop responses to address the impact of accounting standards changes
- Recommend enhancements to reporting practices efficiency
- Aid in the preparation, development, and monitoring of department/hospital budget and adherence to fiscal restrictions
- Offer data and analysis for long-term financial and cash flow forecasting; analyze spending trends and propose optimal fund utilization; compare expenses to income and provide management with recommendations
- Review, analyze, and negotiate financial terms of grant agreements and research proposals to ensure compliance
- Conduct studies to set rates and analyze cost relationships
- Implement and manage cost accounting systems
- Evaluate new business ventures and substantial capital requests
- Stay informed about state, federal, and organizational regulations and guidelines to suggest policy adjustments for compliance
- Devise and implement procedures aligning with established policies
- Analyze and enhance policies and procedures effectiveness
- Lead special projects, coordinate special studies and financial surveys, and collaborate on impact assessments
- Work with managers to plan professional growth
- Participate in educational activities and professional organizations to stay updated on industry trends and best practices
- Prepare and analyze statistical and financial reports for management, including budgeted and actual financial data; assess new program impacts; compute monthly ROI; and report on program activities
- Identify and implement methods to streamline reporting efficiency
- Create required reports for state and federal agencies, ensuring compliance
- Maintain various financial and tax reports as needed for hospital or contract compliance
- Address third-party reporting obligations and ensure regulatory compliance
- Apply federal, state, and contractual requirements to the University environment
- Analyze monthly financial performance compared to budget and prior periods, documenting variances accurately
- Provide guidance to professional staff and offer recommendations to department heads on procedures and policies
- Provide training on cost accounting and management report design
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 2 years of financial analysis experience
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables and MACROS
- Preferably, experience in the healthcare industry
- Ability to pass drug screening and background checks
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Team player with proactive initiative
