We are Prince George's Proud The Department of Public Works & Transportation (DPW&T) is currently seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a vacant Transit Grants Coordinator (Administrative Assistant 1G) position, Grade G18 within its Transit and Taxi Administration Division.
About the Position:
This is entry level professional level administrative position will serve as Grant/Program specialist in the Office of Transportation in the areas of duties related to a variety of transportation projects requiring the application of sound research and analysis practices and principles
Major duties include:
processing of grants and related programs; program research and development; program analysis and review; program coordination and communication; and other duties as related and required.
Examples of Work What You'll Do:
Assists in the administration of grants and related programs.
Assists with preparation and securing necessary grant applications and approvals; processes, reviews, and develops grant agreements; monitors programs to ensure compliance with grant requirements, program budgets, and goals and objectives.
Participates in developing and processing necessary bid specifications and grant billings; collects and prepares data for periodic reports.Maintains accurate, accessible, and up-to-date records, reports, and related program documents.
Checks submitted data, billings, agreements, and reports to ensure accuracy and conducts field checks as scheduled.
Maintains accurate, accessible, and up-to-date records, reports, and related contract documents.
Assists in the development of annual grant budgets, applications, and goals and objectives.
Drafts reports and recommendations ensuring information is clear, concise and indicative of action to be taken.
Qualifications What You'll Need:
Graduation from college with major course work in Liberal Arts, one of the Social Sciences, or Public or Business Administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Prince George's County benefits plan year is from January 1 to December 31. A spouse (to include a same sex spouse) can be added to the health benefit plans. A marriage certificate and social security number is required to add a spouse. Children under the age of 26 are eligible for coverage under the health benefit plans. This includes stepchildren and children of the same-sex spouse. A birth certificate(s) and social security number(s) is required to add a child(ren).

New employees must enroll in the County's health benefit plans within thirty (30) days of the hire date.The effective date of the health benefits coverage is the beginning of the month following a waiting period of forty-five (45) days from the date of hire.
After enrolling in the County's benefit plans, employees may only make changes to the plans either during the open enrollment period, which occurs annually (usually each October), and/or during the year, due to a family status change (i.e., marriage, births, divorce and adoption).
