Job Description:
Position Summary: The Planner/Buyer role primarily supports manufacturing with scheduling, tracking, reconciling and follow-up, as needed to support the Master Build Schedule and company objectives. Secondarily, there will be execution of delivery releases and expediting of Purchased Items and Consumables, as well as, Services to support Engineering and other support departments. The position will exhibit excellent communication skills, a sense of urgency with skills in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and Graphs) and ERP systems, such as SAP/Oracle/QAD.
Duties and Responsibilities:
o Produce schedules to support Production, as needed.
o Monitor raw material deliveries to support the Production Schedule.
o Identify inventory shorts and stock positions to help achieve/maintain committed build plans.
o Create and update purchase orders with accurate delivery dates, as needed.
o Monitor planned vs actual consumption to help refine standard usage values for Consumables.
o Coordinate vendor returns for damages and non-conforming material.
o Systematically maintain inventory levels for factory consumables, including office supplies.
o Build and maintain vendor relationships through constant communication.
o Reconcile PO quantity and receipt discrepancies, as needed
o Other duties, as assigned.
o Direct Reports: The position has no direct reports.
Education and Experience:
o An associates and/or bachelor's degree in a related field or 10 plus years in supply chain.
o 3+ years of experience in a support role within a Manufacturing environment preferred.
o Effective (written and verbal) communication and effective interpersonal skills.
o Flexible to change and possess a high degree of integrity and a can do attitude.
o Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.
o Able to convert units of measurement, add, subtract multiply and divide.
o Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
