Insight Global is seeking a Field Service Engineer for a client in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

This client covers the entire water and wastewater mechanical process equipment and clarification systems for municipal applications around the world with low maintenance costs and, highest life cycle in the water and wastewater treatment market.

The primary function of this Field Service Engineer is to promote their brand, startup, supervision of install, coordinate & configure, troubleshoot, and maintain products/equipment within or outside of a specific region or assigned Customer(s).

The individual independently handles complex issues, offers customer training, and suggests upgrades.

The Field Service Engineer works remotely, and coordinates travels up to 50% - 70% of the time to client locations, sometimes on short notice.

Other Duties & Responsibilities include:

Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, performing start-up, and maintains products/equipment.
Identifying, analyzing, and repairing product failures, installing new components or parts without direct supervision.
Developing creative solutions for unique, chronic, or complex issues and situations.
Providing customer training on features and general maintenance of product.
Having a deep knowledge of the organization's products, processes, and services.
Assisting customers with questions about products and recommending appropriate upgrades including contracts, services, and spare parts.
Contributing to moderately complex aspects of a project.
Mentoring less experienced service engineers.
Developing positive relationship with new or existing clients.
Working independently or collaboratively with internal staffing while on site.
Maintaining and documenting service in CRM tool and provide reports to supervisor of system activities.
Maintaining install and Ref list with current clients.
Helping with aftermarket parts and services sales as needed.
Performing various other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

Experience within the Water or Wastewater treatment industry

Fluent in German and Italian languages

Programming experience within ABB

Experience with SAP or Salesforce

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field
3+ years of experience as a Field Service Engineer

Associates Degree

Experience working with internal and external clients to troubleshoot and identify optimal solutions

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Software proficiency to include Windows and Microsoft Office
