    Description

    Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Analyst

    This position plays a key role in safeguarding Arizona Insurance Consumers by meticulously examining insurance policy forms to pinpoint any misleading, deceptive, or unclear language. Additionally, the candidate will review insurer rating algorithms and underwriting rules to ensure fair and reasonable practices that benefit consumers.

    Furthermore, this role involves swiftly reviewing rate, rule, and form filings to confirm compliance with Arizona laws, ultimately fostering a balanced and competitive insurance market for Arizona Insurance Consumers.

    Moreover, the incumbent will contribute to enhancing communication and process efficiency within the Department to optimize its regulatory functions.

    Job Duties:

    • Review policy/contract forms, advertising, and rate filings for compliance with insurance laws and regulations
    • Collaborate in the analysis of property and casualty rate filings, ensuring they meet statutory requirements
    • Engage in special projects to enhance regulatory processes and assess insurance availability and affordability
    • Research statutes and regulations to provide responses to inquiries from various stakeholders
    • Participate in communication and education initiatives within and outside the division
    • Perform other relevant duties as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

    Knowledge:

    • Understanding of insurance industry regulation and applicable laws
    • Familiarity with NAIC systems and insurance market operations
    • Expertise in property and casualty insurance and rating principles
    • Knowledge of insurance contract language and actuarial practices

    Skills:

    • Proficiency in utilizing web-based systems and data sources
    • Ability to use software like Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
    • Strong organizational, research, and problem-solving skills

    Ability:

    • Capability to analyze complex data, establish professional relationships, and work independently
    • Quick learning aptitude and effective use of technological tools

    Selective Preference(s):

    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Preferred designations: CPCU, AIE, CIE, ARM, or NAIC regulator
    • Experience in insurance regulatory compliance and property & casualty insurance industry
    • Prior exposure to insurance regulatory enforcement

    Pre-Employment Requirements:

    • Valid state-issued driver license and acceptable driving record
    • Applicant may be required to drive for work-related purposes
