    CDK Global is the leader in providing integrated technology solutions to dealerships world-wide and is looking for a Proposal Specialist for the Sales Operations team. Seeking an experienced Proposal Specialist that will collaborate with teams on various proposal-related documents to edit materials, improve their quality, and ensure they are editorially correct without altering their technical accuracy or meaning. The Proposal Specialist will also be responsible for proposal content organization, management, design of the internal knowledge base site that contains information to assist the Proposal Team in responding to proposals.

    The candidate will review content developed by SMEs for compliance to RFP requirements, provide consistency to proposal content across all volumes to include past performance, resumes, management, and technical. They will lead revisions, such as changing words and rearranging sentences and paragraphs to improve clarity. The candidate will review proposal content for errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling and check the proposal for readability, style, and agreement with editorial policy. The ideal candidate will provide proofreading skills and possess keen attention to detail. The candidate will also demonstrate dependability and exceptional customer service skills.

    The Proposal Specialist supports sales and account initiatives by providing high-quality, on-time RFP/RFI responses. This entails interacting with individuals throughout the organization to ensure RFP/RFI responses are delivered on a timely basis, clearly articulate and demonstrate CDK's product and service differentiators to attract and retain group customers.
    A successful CDK Proposal Specialist is eager to learn and develop themselves, enthusiastically raises the bar and shares lessons learned with the team and communicates effectively and clearly. The ideal candidate has outstanding proposal management acumen and persuasive writing experience. They must demonstrate the ability to think strategically to conceive, build, and convey compelling value propositions in a written format.

    Key Responsibilities

    • 60/40 split between Writer and Content Administrator
    • Leads proposal text and improves it by rewriting to one voice in proposal
    • Turn passive into active voice and write persuasive content
    • Ensure all texts conforms for message & voice
    • Ensure all text is grammatically correct & responsive to proposal requirements
    • Helps coordinate editorial schedule with proposal management staff while communicating needs and deadlines
    • Research and understand relevant information from SMEs for use in proposal writing to address customer hot buttons, features, and benefits of proposed solution, and incorporating win themes into proposal sections
    • Manages content and all content related tasks for all supported business units. Provides maintenance and regular updates for the content management system to remain effective and efficient. Ensures that materials adhere to CDK branding guidelines.
    • Maintains current content and proactively develops new content based on product news/updates. Works with experts on unanswered questions, conducts content reviews throughout the business, and ensures content is in one voice, client centric, and customized. Manages proofreading and coordinates supporting documents/exhibits. Maintains proficiency with content management software educating other team members on new releases/updates and tools. Catalogs and disseminates incoming requests.
    • Maintains a high level of knowledge of supported products and services by participating in training sessions, reviewing internal and external communications, and applying this knowledge to administration/management of related content.
    • Identifies and manages inherent risks associated with development and distribution of requests for proposal/requests for information in a highly regulated and competitive industry.
    • Undertakes self-education on technology and tools through training modules, attending conferences, web-exes and other available resources.
    • May work on multiple proposals in the same timeframe
    • Execute high-quality proposal responses with key internal stakeholders (e.g., account teams, business development teams, product teams, marketing, legal, finance, etc.).
    • Partner with the account team to develop win themes and bid differentiators, starting backwards from the customer.
    • Assist with managing and maintaining RFP content repository and standard proposal artifacts.

    Required Skills
    • Bachelor's degree preferred; or a minimum of five years' experience in successfully managing and responding to RFPs/RFIs; or ten to fifteen years' complex project management experience.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Project, Microsoft SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat Professional applications. Additional experience with RFP software (RocketDocs), and CRM (Salesforce) preferred.
    • Excellent writing and editing skills including proper grammar and punctuation skills with high attention to details and proven ability to produce quality, print-ready materials.
    • Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to work and collaborate with a variety of individuals at all levels throughout the organization.
    • Ability to understand and synthesize information and develop clear, accurate and concise responses to RFP requirements. A combination of writing, technical and sales/marketing skills strongly preferred.
    • Strong project management skills with particular attention to details, ability to prioritize multiple projects and the ability to work under pressure in a deadline-sensitive environment.
    • Ability to be self-directed and work independently with little supervision.
    • Ability to lead and facilitate projects and meetings.
    • Strong reasoning ability, critical thinking, problem-solving and organizational skills.
    • Ability to assemble proposal binders, pack boxes and delivery.
