    As a subsidiary of Valley National Bancorp, Dudley Ventures (DV) provides investment and advisory services specializing in congressionally sanctioned tax credits and other tax advantaged investments.

    The Investment Analyst is responsible for financial analysis of lending and investment opportunities for renewable energy, real estate development and operating businesses utilizing Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Historic Tax Credits (HTC), Renewable Energy Tax Credits (RETC), and/or New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC).

    Requirements

    Required Skills:
    Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
    Experience with financial analysis and underwriting.
    Well-developed reading, writing, verbal presentation, and mathematical skills.
    Excellent collaboration and time management skills, with the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks, and work under deadlines.
    Strong interpersonal skills.
    Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Self-starter with an interest in community development and finance; ability to work with minimal direction.

    Required Experience:


    Bachelor's Degree in business related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in finance function, preferable with commercial lending/investing experience.

    FINRA licensing is a plus.
    Private placement and/or municipal bond underwriting experience preferred.

    Job Description
    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Responsible for preparing high quality investment memos which include the investment strengths, weaknesses, and risks and mitigants.

    Present analytical findings to a credit committee and various department heads and communicate directly with existing and potential borrowers, investors and third-party industry professionals.

    Analytical responsibilities include financial statement analysis; financial forecasting and trending analysis; construction budget review and development; investor benefit analysis; Excel model development; and the collection, organization, review and underwriting of due diligence material.
