    Duties


    • Evaluates staff, assures appropriate program staffing, evaluates program quality, productivity, and effectiveness.
    • Responsible for the operational, procedural, and logistical integrity of the YRTC service components.
    • Provides supervisory oversight for administrative and support staff and providing direct leadership with managers and key staff.
    • Maintains the fiscal health integrity of the YRTC and operates within budgeted funding.
    • Provides clinical consultative, evaluative, and psychotherapeutic services.
    • Provides case, program and administrative consultation to Indian Health Service staff.
    • Provides direct psychological services including testing, evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, referral, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and treatment modality for children/adolescents and their families.

    Conditions of Employment

    Selectee may be subject to a probationary/trial period.

    ESEP appointees typically serve a two-year trial period.

    Qualifications


    To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.


    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social).

    BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):

    Degree:
    major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology.

    These two specializations have additional educational requirements, as stated below:


    • Clinical psychology: For positions at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.
    D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required.

    • Counseling psychology: For positions at grades GS-9 and above, satisfactory completion of 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or satisfactory completion in an accredited educational institution of all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology is required.

    In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks


    Examples include:

    being responsible for overall planning, organizing, improving and implementing behavioral, health issues; provide administrative, supervision for behavioral health staff and clinical supervision for appropriate staff to assure compliance with accrediting bodies; provide leadership in the development of policies and procedures, related to outpatient psychiatric services; recruit employees to ensure department is staffed with qualified personnel.

    Time In Grade


    Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level.

    Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
