    Amphibious Medics is currently seeking EMT-Bs or higher for Full Time and Per Diem roles as Health and Safety Medical Technicians in Sacramento, CA.

    HSMT Job Description

    The Health and Safety Medical Technician (HSMT) serves as a medical representative on construction sites, operating independently with minimal supervision. Collaborating closely with construction site Health and Safety management teams, the HSMT ensures a secure work environment for site workers. Responsibilities include providing first aid to injured workers, identifying potential safety hazards, participating in site Health & Wellness initiatives, and engaging in the workers' compensation process.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Offer triage, first aid, or referral to external medical providers when necessary
    • Demonstrate composure, quick reactions, and sound decision-making during emergencies
    • Maintain medical records and inventory, restocking and cleaning equipment regularly
    • Liaise with external medical providers regarding worker injuries and progress
    • Submit daily activity reports, engage in regular site interactions, and support health fairs
    • Contribute to safety awareness meetings and participate in workers' compensation procedures

    Minimum Requirements

    • At least one year of full-time experience in 911 emergency medical response
    • Capability to lift a minimum of 35 lbs and stand/walk for at least five hours per day
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

    Education/Certification

    • Valid National Registry or State EMT-B Certification
    • CPR certification at the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider level
    • High School Diploma or equivalent

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with OSHA regulations, particularly in 29 CFR 1910
    • Background in large-scale construction sites and workers' compensation claims
    • Instructor certification for First Aid, CPR, and AED training
    • Active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card holder
