    About the position
    The School Nutrition Services Manager-In-Training role involves supporting the Food Service Manager in day-to-day operational and financial tasks to ensure compliance with regulations at all levels. Responsibilities include assisting cafeteria staff with food prep, meal service, monitoring food quantities and quality, and ensuring adherence to USDA School Breakfast Program (SBP) and National School Lunch Program (NSLP) guidelines along with health standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Learn managerial skills under the Manager's supervision to prepare for a future management role
    • Support the Food Service Manager in training new staff
    • Conduct follow-up visits for new employees
    • Act as a substitute when necessary
    • Participate in managerial meetings and on-site training sessions
    • Complete any other assigned tasks

    Additional Functions

    • Provide assistance to colleagues to enhance work efficiency
    Minimum Qualifications

    Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

    Skills: Safety practices, equipment operation, project management, record-keeping, software applications
    Knowledge: Basic math, reading comprehension, problem-solving, safety procedures, food preparation, sanitation
    Abilities: Scheduling, teamwork, equipment operation, problem-solving, leadership, flexibility

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities involve working independently within established guidelines, overseeing a small team, managing a budget, and may require collaboration with other departments.

    Working Environment

    The role involves physical activities like lifting, carrying, stooping, and standing, with occasional exposure to varying temperatures and hazards. Experience
