- Review procedure cards to prepare for surgeries
- Set up for procedures with proper equipment
- Pass instruments to surgeons during procedures
- Anticipate team needs and provide necessary supplies
- Assist in instrument care and maintenance
- Collaborate on sponge, sharps, and instrument counts
- Maintain a sterile field
- Assist in managing inventory
- Transport patients and equipment as needed
- Participate in safety and quality initiatives
- Assist in achieving turnover goals
- Participate in department projects
- Act as preceptor to students and staff
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Must meet requirements to practice as a surgical technologist in Massachusetts
- Obtain certification within one year of program completion
- BCLS certification mandatory
