- Play a key role in the Accounting Department and work closely with the Director of Finance, Executive and Senior Leadership to implement internal controls and process efficiency across all departments.
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of AP/AR/Job Cost/ General Ledger and Payroll
- Oversee month-end closing process including module tie outs
- Perform monthly Balance Sheet and key income statement accounts reconciliations
- Spearhead budget preparation and revenue forecasting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements for bonding company and other external stakeholders.
- Perform post implementation ERP system integrity audit
- Understand construction payroll including prevailing wage fringe calculation
- Review Work in Progress (WIP) Schedule
- Develop audit schedule for year-end, 401k plan and Workers' Compensation risk assessment
- Assist in documenting accounting internal controls, policies and procedures
- Perform financial analysis on overall performance of the jobs, indirect and overhead costs and other adhoc analysis as required
- Assist in Phase 2 system implementation of the new ERP system on materials and purchasing functions
- Provide technical accounting guidance to staff as needed
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Maintain proper filing and documentation systems to provide clear audit trails
- Train employees as needed
- May perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or other member of the Leadership Team
- Degree in Accounting is a must, MBA or CPA Certification is a plus
- At least 7 years' experience in full accounting cycle. Construction experience is highly desirable
- With at least 3 years in management role
- Familiarity with Percentage of Completion Revenue Recognition
- Full understanding of GAAP and other related accounting standards
- With advanced Excel skills such as VLOOKUPS, Pivot table and other formulas
- Familiarity with Accounting software such as Sage, SAP, Vista Viewpoint, etc.
- Attention to details is required
- With good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to protect confidential and sensitive information
- Maintain and abide by all safety requirements
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to travel across company's locations as needed.
