- Triage, interpret, and input orders into the computerized medication order system ensuring accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy. Audits input versus documentation and makes necessary corrections.
- Conducts drug calculations, including basic mathematical calculations (e.g., converting milligrams).
- Addresses denials identified through adjudication, follows up on claims in the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and processes.
- Generates reports and keeps management informed of unpaid claims and pending follow-ups.
- Provides outstanding customer service to both external and internal customers in line with company values.
- Assists with drug preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned, which may involve supporting various pharmacy areas as directed by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant experience in a pharmacy setting
- Basic knowledge of drugs, medication terminology, and the metric system, along with computer operation skills
- Licenses/Certifications: As required by state regulations and business needs
- Detail-oriented, goal-oriented, team player, customer service-oriented, good oral communication skills
