- Develop applications to the local, state, and federal government and/or request for proposals, drafting compelling, high-quality grant proposals and applications that are ultimately successful, driving organizational growth and impact.
- Establish an internal review process and lead the preparation and submission of monthly/quarterly/annual calculations, analyses, and reports in compliance with government requirements.
- Works with the technical leads and the finance team to develop project budgets and budget justifications aligned with grant requirements and assist in monitoring fiscal and in-kind match commitments.
- Provide information on policy and procedure interpretation, new regulations, and new processes to the various departments and facility locations for proper compliance with new and existing government requirements.

Position Overview
The Manager of Government Grants is a leadership position with broad responsibility across the organization to identify and champion appropriate funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources. This individual will lead the work of creating and growing the organization's involvement in government projects, including, but not limited to tax credits, training reimbursements, grants, and other funding projects that align with the organization's strategic initiatives. The responsibility of this position includes the identification of funding opportunities, grant writing and proposal development, and the financial management, reporting, and compliance of these opportunities.
The Manager, Government Grants, serves as a liaison with the funding agencies and stays current with government incentives and opportunities in battery development and manufacturing. They cultivate and maintain positive relationships with partners and other stakeholders to facilitate intelligence gathering and increase grant yield by ensuring the submission of high-quality grant proposals and management of key grant data. They are primarily responsible for the production of innovative and persuasive grant proposals, reports, and other written materials that secure support from funders.
As a key member of the Program Management department, the Government Grants Manager uses detailed program management processes to plan, execute, deliver, and provide reporting on complex programs according to strict deadlines and budgets while delivering project objectives. This will include but will not be limited to defining and holding to project scope, meeting specification requirements, engaging in and leading cross-functional communication, schedule, issue tracking, and the overall economics of the projects.
