What you will contribute to our team

We are on the lookout for Senior Process Control Application Engineers to join our team across various North American manufacturing locations, including Beaumont TX, Baytown TX, Corpus Christi TX, Baton Rouge LA, and Joliet IL.

As an Application Engineer, your role involves developing and supporting basic and advanced process control applications that enhance plant operations in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability. You will play a key role in troubleshooting, optimization, and project execution as part of multifunctional teams, while also serving as a senior resource offering technical expertise and mentorship across teams.

What will be your responsibilities

• Develop and support basic process control applications using essential engineering skills like point configuration, loop tuning, and identification of process dynamics
• Show technical leadership in a competitive setting, applying technical and business acumen to solve complex issues and develop innovative solutions
• Implement and maintain base and advanced controls, including model predictive control and advanced optimization
• Identify opportunities for business enhancement and contribute to improving unit operations
• Support operational teams during project phases and provide process control assistance
• Participate actively in unit operations, troubleshooting, and incident investigations
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills in managing multiple priorities and stakeholders
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration within operational teams
• Provide support for plant operations 24/7, including on-call and after-hours assistance

About the ideal candidate

Skills and Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• Relevant experience in a manufacturing/operating plant environment
• Proficiency in refining/chemical processes with over 10 years of experience in the petrochemical industry

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

• Experience in regulatory and advanced controls of manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with model predictive control technologies like DMC, RMPCT/Profit Controller, and real-time optimizers
• Knowledge of Honeywell TDC 3000 and/or Experion process control systems
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in promoting ideas, coordinating activities, and planning improvements
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Strong initiative, innovation, teamwork, and communication skills
