- Oversee day-to-day HR administration including payroll, benefits, HRIS-management, and organization.
- Guide hiring managers and provide assistance on end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates.
- Conduct new hire orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies and procedures.
- Administer and track employee performance reviews, including goal setting and feedback.
- Handle employee relations matters and investigations, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution.
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
- Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist role.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Ideally with experience in California.
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Experience with employee relations and performance management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Knowledgeable and proficient with TriNet or other PEO providers is a plus.
- Previous experience with quickly-growing startup companies based in California is a huge plus.
- Previous experience with scientific, biotechnology, and/or agriculture organizations is a plus.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.

The US base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $120,000 + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
