    JOB SUMMARY:

    This position entails the design, construction, and maintenance of thin-film deposition equipment specializing in plasma-based decorative and functional coatings. Key responsibilities include developing electrical schematics, programming PLC and HMI, and conducting hardware and software troubleshooting.

    PRIMARY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Formulate AC Power Distribution systems for machines with up to 480V three-phase loads, adhering to both US and international standards.

    Architect control systems for vacuum systems and thin-film process control equipment, with a focus on PLC and HMI software development and troubleshooting.

    Generate Electrical Schematics and Bill of Materials.

    Collaborate with sourcing to engage with vendors for parts and component selection.

    Provide post-build functional support to the service team.

    Engage with internal and external customers.

    OTHER DETAILS:

    Travel requirement is less than 20%.

    REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:

    Proficient in problem-solving and root cause analysis.

    Familiarity with personal computer operating systems (Microsoft Windows 7 Pro, Windows 10 Pro), networking, and software installation.

    Knowledgeable about regulatory requirements (NEC, UL, CE).

    Competent in AutoCAD Electrical.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

    Six or more years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.

    Expertise in electrical planning for machines and control cabinets.

    Controls design proficiency, encompassing safety, power distribution, motor control, VFDs, pneumatics, PID design and tuning, sensors, analog and digital I/O.

    Experience with communication interfaces, including Ethernet, EtherNet/IP, ProfiBus, RS-485, RS-232.

    Proficient in process control involving pumps, valves, process power supplies, and industrial networking.

    Preferred experience with Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) Studio 5000 PLC and FactoryTalk View HMI programming, and preference for OEM or systems integrator background.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Capable of lifting and moving 50 lbs.

    Able to stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, and walk throughout the day.

    Competent in operating machinery and power tools.
