Description

Spherion Staffing is looking for a Finance Director to provide management of accounting, debt/treasury management, special assessments, utility billing, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, and investments of the company.

This individual also provides management, leadership, and coordination over all areas of fiscal operations, forecasting, and analysis for the company.

Salary $120-150k/year DOE

Responsibilities:

Direct the daily financial administration including: develop, execute, and manage the annual budget; manage investments; reconcile monthly bank statements; prepare various financial statements; perform short term and long term financial analysis and planning
Supervise and manage staff engaged in maintaining the general ledger, payroll, purchasing, capital asset records, utility accounts, receipt and disbursement of funds, and budgetary functions
Establish guidelines and policies to ensure effective and efficient operations; organize regular meetings; review, plan, and assign duties; direct the work of staff; oversee staff training and development; provide work directives and guidance
Implement, direct and monitor internal financial controls, including controls for utility billing, cash receipting, payroll, fixed assets, special assessments, capital projects and construction contracts; oversees the collection and disbursement of company funds; monitor and ensure the compliance of all policies and local, state and federal laws and regulations
Monitor all financial and software systems and procedures; determine when upgrades, changes or additional ERP software or products are needed to keep processes efficient and accurate

Qualifications:

Bachelor???s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
Eight years of experience in local government financial management preferred
Three or more years of payroll experience
Five or more years of supervisory experience
Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with peers, superiors, other City departments, subordinates, vendors, contractors, external government agencies and organizations
Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing
