Position Overview:
The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for processing, analyzing, and maintaining the accuracy of all inventory located at the Tropicale Ontario facility.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and execute the cycle count calendar.
- Coordinate the cycle count process and results to identify necessary recounts and processes to be monitored and provide regular reporting on the results.
- Analyze Inventory issues utilizing the ERP/WMS and all available resources to identify root causes and supply possible solutions.
- Monitor all key functions related to inventory transactions to assure that they are accurate and timely.
- Collaborate with all departments to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Ensures receiving reports accurately report material received. Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding packing slips, and receiver reports.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert for Deacom WMS software system.
- Works directly with Quality to ensure inventory and practices meet SQF requirements.
Requirements:
- Troubleshooting skills within ERP/WMS
- ERP/WMS experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid math skills and measurements
- Solid Microsoft Office
- Excel & Word
- Proficient in operating forklifts & other material handling equipment
- Make effective decisions by analyzing information and considering priorities
- Coordinate communications and activities among multiple groups
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
- Cooperate with others and coordinates work assignments to achieve team goals
- Leadership, Interpersonal and organizational skills
- Must have ability to move merchandise, trucks and trailers when needed using a Forklift
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Priority Setting and Decision Making
- Must be able to work in cold/freezer environment (20 degrees).
- Responsible, dependable, conscientious, alert, and safety minded
- Work overtime and weekends as needed
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
- Able to meet physical demands in work environment as generally described below
Education and/or Experience:
- Inventory Control experience
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in similar field (Food Industry a plus).
- Forklift license required
- Demonstrates success in a fastpace work environment
Food Safety & Quality Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Adheres to all Food Safety/Quality SOP's
- Accurately completes required Food Safety & Quality records
- Communicates any known or suspected Food Safety/ Quality issues to the Q.A. Manager and Department Manager
- Mentor staff for implementation of food safety and quality procedure
- Attends all Food Safety/Quality meetings to develop quality and safety procedures

- Requires incumbent to sit and operate computer for extended periods of time during the course of the work day and the ability to proficiently use the computer keyboard for typing.
- Noise level for this work environment is typically low to moderate.
- Employee will be exposed to cold temperatures (20 Degrees) at times.
